sterling college welcomed seven new faculty members to campus for the fall semester. classes begin on wednesday, august 26. 

“we are proud to welcome these full-time faculty and clinical instructors to the sterling college family, and we are looking forward to how these individuals will engage and interact with the students we are here to serve,” said dr. ken brown, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college. 

morgan benham, joins sterling college as clinical instructor of athletic training. benham earned her b.a. in athletic training from albion college. she is pursuing her m.s. in behavioral science - general psychology from cameron university. she has athletic training experience at cameron university, olivet college and albion college. additionally, benham has been certified as a volleyball coach for the special olympics. 

andrew drake, returns to his alma mater as clinical instructor of athletic training and head athletic trainer. he holds an m.a. in teaching, physical education and athletic training from the university of west alabama. he earned his b.s. in athletic training from sterling. drake served as assistant athletic trainer for friends university previously. he is a member of the national athletic trainers’ association, kansas athletic trainers society and the mid-america athletic trainers association. 

stuart jones, comes to sterling college as assistant professor of mathematics. he earned his master of statistics from auburn university. he also holds an m.m.ed. from troy university and a b.s. in mathematics and a b.s. in psychology from troy university. he has taught mathematics at troy university and at houston county high school. he completed his graduate teaching experience at auburn university. 

anna kuns, returns to her alma mater as clinical instructor of athletic training. she is currently pursuing her m.s. in athletic training from indiana wesleyan university. she earned her b.s. in athletic training from sterling. she served as staff athletic trainer at sterling where she supervised during the 2020 naia wrestling national championships.

Dr. Maxwell Patchet, joins sterling college as assistant professor of language & literature. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in English from Marquette University. He holds a Master of arts in English from Brandeis University and holds a B.A. in English from The Master’s University. In 2019 he was awarded the McCabe Award for Teaching Excellence. 

koltyn ratliff, comes to sterling college as clinical instructor of athletic training. he is completing his master of science in athletic training from sterling. he also holds a b.s. in biology from sterling. he has athletic training experience for sterling as well as hutchinson high school in hutchinson, kan. he is a member of the national athletic trainers’ association.

Richard Webb, joins sterling college as assistant professor of criminal justice and Title IX coordinator. He earned his Master of arts in Criminal Justice from West Texas A&M University. He also holds both an M.B.A. and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University. He previously served West Texas A&M University as Director of the Department of title ix Compliance and as faculty in the Department of Criminal Justice and Political Science.
